Coming in the New Year

Season’s Greetings! This is the first post on our new blog, as part of our new website, set up by our new Bagman, and in this case, written by our soon-to-be new Squire.

By now our current squire, Ken, will be in his new home in Horwich, Lancashire – and all of us will want to wish him and June well for the future.

Looking forward to some events over the Festive Season: on Thursday coming we will be Mumming in Bradford-on-Avon, but some of us will have got up much earlier to watch the sun rising at Stonehenge (https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/stonehenge/things-to-do/solstice/).

After Christmas, our first Practice of the New Year will be on 4th January, when we will be working out our set for ‘Plough Sunday’ at Horningsham Church on 14th. After the Service, we will retire to the Full Moon Inn at Rudge for our customary dinner – and on this occasion, our ‘Squire-making’.
